BEIJING, Oct. 11 -- On the morning of October 10, a China Coast Guard (CCG) fleet comprised of the vessels Haimen (Hull 1303) and Yangshan (Hull 1305) successfully completed its 2025 fishery law enforcement patrol mission in the high seas of the North Pacific Ocean and returned to port. This marks the 10th patrol conducted by the CCG in the high seas of the North Pacific Ocean. The patrol lasted 31 days, covering over 17,500 nautical miles and logging 1,409 hours of navigation time.
During the patrol, the fleet carried out five helicopter law enforcement flights over the high seas, observed and documented 69 fishing vessels from various countries, and conducted visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) operations on 10 vessels, effectively fulfilling its law enforcement responsibilities in the high seas and maintaining proper order of fishery production in the North Pacific Ocean.
As a major country in marine fishery and a member state of the Convention on the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fisheries Resources in the North Pacific Ocean, the CCG's deployment of vessels to conduct fishery law enforcement patrols in the North Pacific Ocean holds significant importance for China's participation in global ocean governance and the protection of high seas fishery resources. Moving forward, the CCG will continue to intensify high seas fishery law enforcement patrols, actively fulfill its obligations under the Convention, and play its due role in effectively maintaining the production order in the high seas.
