KARACHI, Feb. 7 -- The Chinese naval taskforce, composed of guided-missile destroyer Baotou (Hull 133) and comprehensive supply ship Gaoyouhu (Hull 904), arrived at the port of Karachi on the afternoon of February 6 local time to participate in the upcoming Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN-2025 sponsored by the Pakistani Navy.
At around 4 pm that day, representatives of the Pakistani Navy and the Chinese Consulate-General in Karachi held a welcoming ceremony at the dock. After the ceremony, Chinese consular staff and overseas Chinese boarded the Chinese naval ships for a visit.
It is learned that the multinational maritime exercise AMAN-2025 is to be held in the middle of February and will involve subjects such as replenishment at sea, joint anti-piracy, search and rescue, and air defense, aiming to enhance the participating navies' ability of jointly maintaining maritime security.
