
BEIJING, Nov. 12 -- On November 11, the 14th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) approved a decision on holding commemorative activities for the 110th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution on October 10, 2021.
The 1911 Revolution ended the monarchy system that had lasted for thousands of years in China, spread the idea of democracy and republicanism, and promoted the social transformation of modern China with profound influence.
In the new era, China commemorates the 1911 Revolution to review the arduous struggle of the Chinese people over the past 100 years for national independence and prosperity, people's happiness, and the complete reunification of the motherland, and to remember the brilliant achievements of Sun Yat-sen and other revolutionary pioneers in their efforts to revitalize China.
Such commemorative activities are of great significance to carry forward the spirit of the 1911 Revolution, promote the great unity of Chinese people at home and abroad, jointly advance the great cause of the complete reunification of the motherland, and realize the Chinese dream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
It is reported that the Standing Committee of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC will establish a preparatory office responsible for the preparation of various commemorative activities for the 110th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution.
