COLOMBO, Dec. 26 -- Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya visited the Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark and the Chinese medical staff onboard on December 24, local time.
A lot of local patients came for treatment that day. Amarasuriya had cordial conversations with the patients. In the traditional Chinese medicine room, Amarasuriya learned about traditional Chinese medicine and highly praised its extensive and profound culture.
Then Amarasuriya held a meeting with the Chinese military doctors on the hospital ship. She expressed her deep impression of the excellent facilities onboard the hospital ship as well as the meticulous diagnosis and treatment, and the outstanding skills of the Chinese medical staff. "This visit of the hospital ship has enhanced the mutual understanding between our two sides. On behalf of the Sri Lankan government and people, I would like to thank the Peace Ark for its visit to Sri Lanka," said Amarasuriya.
