MACAO, Dec. 4 -- The ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the stationing of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) in Macao kicked off on Tuesday morning at the Taipa Barracks of the PLA Macao Garrison. More than 600 attendees participated in the event.
On the day before the ceremony, the troops of PLA Macao Garrison held a cultural performance titled "Pursuing the Dream of Building a Strong Military: A Tribute to the Haojiang River," featuring joint performances by military and civilian personnel, to showcase the troops' achievements in fulfilling defense duties, as well as Macao's overall development.
Over the past 25 years since stationing in Macao, the PLA Macao Garrison has been upholding the policy of "one country, two systems," implementing the Basic Law and the Macao Garrison Law, and faithfully fulfilling their defense duties. The troops stationed in Macao have played an important role in maintaining Macao's prosperity and stability.
