Chinese and Djiboutian troops jointly guard against the mock enemy.
DJIBOUTI CITY , Nov. 4 -- The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Support Base in Djibouti carried out a three-day joint training "Cooperation-2024.10. FAD" with the Djiboutian military from October 26th to 28th.
The training, themed on "joint anti-terrorism military operation", consisted of the land phase and the sea phase. The training, mainly including fire strike, armed escort, counter-piracy and other subjects, involved more than 300 soldiers, five boats, and more than 40 armored vehicles, artilleries, and logistic vehicles from both sides.
During the land phase, the two sides formed a joint command and carried out a series of training on such subjects as field deployment, coordinated reconnaissance, and fire strike, effectively improving the operational coordination between the two militaries.
The sea phase of the training was conducted under the scenario of "joint escort and anti-piracy". The two navies carried out seven training subjects, namely dock loading, blockade, armed escort, joint patrol at sea, anti-piracy, visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) and covert raid. This is the first joint training conducted by the Chinese PLA Support Base in Djibouti with the Djiboutian Navy since the establishment of the PLA Support Base in Djibouti.
