LUANDA, Sept. 5 -- Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark, which is on the Mission Harmony-2024, arrived in the Republic of Angola, on the morning of Wednesday, local time, for a 7-day goodwill visit and medical service. It is the first visit of the Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark to Angola in seven years after the Mission Harmony in 2017.
At around 10 a.m., the Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark docked at the Port of Luanda in Angola. The Angolan side held a grand welcome ceremony at the dock. Representatives of the Angolan military attended the welcome ceremony and boarded the Peace Ark for a tour. Angolan military officials, staff of the Chinese Embassy in Angola, overseas Chinese, and representatives of Chinese enterprises were present at the dock to welcome the Peace Ark.
During the seven-day goodwill visit, the Peace Ark will provide diagnosis and treatment service for local people. Meanwhile, it will dispatch several medical teams to local hospitals for joint diagnosis and treatment.
Members of the hospital ship will also go to the local orphanage for health services and cultural exchanges, and hold a friendly basketball match with the Angolan Navy.
