BEIJING, Aug. 14 -- The Chinese military sports delegation departed from Beijing to Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, on Tuesday to participate in the 4th International Military Sports Council (CISM) World Cadet Games. This is the first time that the Chinese military has organized a delegation to participate in World Cadet Games.
It is reported that this year's World Cadet Games will be held in seven items including military pentathlon, orienteering, shooting, swimming, track and field, volleyball and fencing, and the participants are mainly military cadets aged from 17 to 26. The Chinese military sports delegation comprises 133 members and will participate in all events except fencing.
The World Cadet Games is a comprehensive sports event under the framework of the CISM, which aims to give full play to the special educational role of sports and enhance understanding and exchanges among military cadets from various countries.
