MAPUTO, Aug. 12 -- The Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark, which is on the Mission Harmony-2024, arrived in Mozambique, the fourth stop of the mission, on August 9 local time. During the seven-day goodwill visit, it will provide medical service there. The ship Peace Ark revisited Mozambique this time seven years after its first visit during the Mission Harmony in 2017.
At round 10:00 a.m., the ship Peace Ark steadily docked at the Port of Maputo in Mozambique. The Mozambican side held a grand welcoming ceremony at the dock. The Mozambican Chief of Navy attended the ceremony and boarded the ship for a visit. The Mozambican military officers, staff of the Chinese Embassy in Mozambique, and representatives of overseas Chinese and Chinese-funded institutions came to the dock to welcome the ship.
During the visit, the ship Peace Ark will use its main platform to provide medical service for the incoming patients. In addition, it will dispatch multiple medical teams to local hospitals to offer itinerant medical service. The Chinese side will carry out joint treatment, academic exchanges, cultural events and other activities with the Mozambican side.
