HONG KONG, Apr. 19 -- The Chinese People's Liberation Army(PLA) Hong Kong Garrison organized the second Hong Kong youth patriotism and national defense education military experience camp at the San Wai Barracks and the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks from April 13 to 14. Nearly 240 Hong Kong youths actively participated in the activity and gained in-depth understanding of China's national defense and military development.
At the San Wai Barracks, the participating youths were divided into groups for formation training and laser simulation shooting training. During the activity, the troops of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison also taught them military songs and showed them weapons and equipment.
On the second day of the activity, the youths came to the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks to participate in the flag-raising ceremony. They also visited the PLA Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Center to learn about the history of the development of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the country and the military. Later, they boarded the warship of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison, where they learned about naval weapons and equipment, observed knot tying operations, watched the flag semaphore display and learned how to use the flag semaphore to say "Love the motherland and love Hong Kong".
In the future, the PLA Hong Kong Garrison will actively carry out various forms of activities to help Hong Kong youths get closer to the military camp, feel the pride brought by the development of the country and the military, and enhance their awareness of safeguarding national security.
