BEIJING, Apr. 2 -- According to the annual training plan, the Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command will organize its land and air forces to conduct joint live-fire exercise on the Chinese side of China-Myanmar border from April 2, said Air Force Senior Colonel Tian Junli, spokesperson for the PLA Southern Theater Command, in a statement on Tuesday.
The exercise aims to test the rapid mobility, precise destruction, three-dimensional blockade and control, and joint strike capabilities of the troops, noted the spokesperson.
"The troops of PLA Southern Theater Command are always ready to deal with various emergencies, and resolutely safeguard national sovereignty, border stability, as well as the safety of people's lives and property," stressed the spokesperson in the end.
