BEIRUT, Dec. 18 -- The 22nd Chinese Construction Engineering Company to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) carried out a comprehensive emergency defense drill from December 16 to 17, local time, after completing the rotation deployment.
After the air raid siren sounded, the contingent activated the emergency plan and moved the command post to an underground bunker. Peacekeepers quickly maneuvered into bunkers, wearing bulletproof vests and tactical backpacks. During the drill, the contingent practiced emergency response to various special situations such as indirect-fire weapon strike and drone attack.
Since its deployment to the mission area in early December, the construction engineering company has maintained combat readiness, repaired and strengthened various defense fortifications, and optimized force organization to ensure quick and effective responses to emergencies.
