BEIJING, Nov. 23 -- China is firmly opposed to the Philippines' actions of colluding with the external force to patrol and stir up troubles in the South China Sea, said Air Force Senior Colonel Tian Junli, spokesperson for the Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command, in a written statement on Thursday.
The spokesperson said that the guided-missile frigate Yuncheng of the navy under the PLA Southern Theater Command has been conducting routine patrol in the South China Sea since November 21. In the meantime, the Philippines has colluded with the external force to patrol the South China Sea, stir up troubles and hype it up, undermining regional peace and stability and violating the spirit of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DOC).
The troops of the PLA Southern Theater Command remain on high alert at all times to resolutely safeguard China's sovereignty and security as well as maritime rights and interests, and maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea, stressed the spokesperson.
