BEIJING, Sept. 26 – The 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) was established recently.
The 700 peacekeepers assigned to the 10th Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion to UNMISS are mainly selected from the "Tiger Battalion" of a brigade under the PLA 81st Group Army, including combined arms of armor, reconnaissance, and other specialists.
Inside this contingent, there is also a female infantry squad which will undertake the missions like humanitarian assistance and protection of the rights and interests of women and children.
