BEIJING, Aug.25 -- The 43rd Chinese naval escort taskforce made a technical stop in Port Klang, Malaysia, from August 17 to 20, for a four-day replenishment and rest.
On the evening of August 18, a grand deck reception was held at the guided-missile destroyer Nanning. A total of 160 people, including Deputy Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy, representatives of Malaysian naval sailors, military attachés from some countries in Malaysia, Chinese military attachés and embassy staff in Malaysia, and some local overseas Chinese, boarded the ship to attend the event.
During the stopover, commander of the Chinese naval taskforce met with Rear Admiral Hanafiah Hassan, Director General of the National Hydrographic Center of Royal Malaysian Navy. The two sides had in-depth talks, jointly reaffirmed and emphasized the importance of good-neighborly and friendly development between the two countries, and expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation and exchanges between the two navies.
