BEIJING, Aug. 7 -- A brigade of the 78th Group Army under the Chinese PLA Northern Theater Command dispatched 1,000 troops and over 100 vehicles to conduct emergency rescue in Shulan, Northeast China's Jilin Province, on the afternoon of August 6.
Typhoon Doksuri has brought continuous heavy rainfall and caused severe flooding in Shulan. Some bridges were collapsed, and roads were damaged. A combined-arms brigade of the PLA 78th Group Army dispatched 1,000 troops and over 100 general-purpose vehicles, engineering equipment, and unmanned search and rescue equipment on August 6. They were deployed in batches to Kaiyuan Town and Qili Town of Shulan to conduct dredging and search and rescue missions.
As of 3:00 pm on August 6, the first batch of troops had arrived at the designated areas and carried out disaster relief operations.
