BEIJING, July 3 -- To celebrate the 26th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China, the Chinese PLA Hong Kong Garrison held an open-house event from July 1 to 3, 2023.
During the three days, the Chinese PLA Hong Kong Garrison’s Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks, Shek Kong Barracks and San Wai Barracks have been open to the public.
On July 1, the event kicked off as the national flag-raising ceremony was held at the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks. Then came the demonstrations on military subjects one after another, including combat techniques, bayonet charge exercise, and special operations.
In the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks’ equipment exhibition area, main battle equipment including a naval frigate made their debut for Hong Kong residents, attracting many of them to board for a visit. Armored vehicles and infantry firearms have been the main attractions to children.
This year marks the 32nd time that the PLA Hong Kong Garrison has held an open-house event, which has received over 800,000 Hong Kong residents in accumulation over the past 26 years.
