VIENTIANE, May 25 -- The China-Laos Friendship Shield 2023 joint military exercise is being held from 9 to 28 of May in Laos. The Chinese participating troops visited China-Laos Friendship Nongping Primary School to donate school supplies during the interval of the exercise on the morning of May 23.
Military attache of the Chinese embassy in Laos, representatives of the local government and Chinese and Lao participating troops, as well as all the teachers and students from the school, attended the activity.
The Nongping Primary School, funded by the China Foundation for Peace and Development, was built in 2012. Since then, the Chinese side has continuously sent volunteer teachers and provided school supplies for the school, making it a demonstration project for China-Laos friendship. This time, the Chinese participating troops donated more than 300 pieces (sets) of backpacks, stationery, cultural and sports equipment, and other materials to the school.
“The school bears testimony to the profound China-Laos friendship. We hope the children can carry forward the traditional friendship between China and Laos,” said Li Yun, a member of the command group of the Chinese participating troops.
