MACAO, April 4 – Troops assigned to the PLA Macao Garrison participated in a voluntary blood donation activity organized by the Macao Special Administrative Region government in Taipa barracks on April 3, with more than 100 volunteers donating around 40,000 milliliters of blood.
According to Li Yuan, head of a department with the PLA Macao Garrison, the participating troops took a health examination three days ahead to ensure their physical safety and the blood quality.
Ouyang Yu, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government, presented the letter of thanks to the PLA Macao Garrison and expressed gratitude for their persistent blood donation in these years.
"The garrison troops always regard Macao as their hometown, and treat the Macao people as their families," said Dai Jingsong, deputy commander of the PLA Macao Garrison.
Since being stationed in Macao in 1999, the PLA Macao Garrison has actively participated in voluntary blood donation initiatives, with accumulated over 2,000 members donating more than 800,000 milliliters of blood in total.
