ABYEI, Feb. 8 -- On February 6, local time, after receiving an emergency task order issued by the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), the 5th Chinese Peacekeeping Military Utility Helicopter Unit to UNISFA dispatched troops to emergently transfer a Bangladeshi peacekeeper bitten by a venomous snake.
In spite of the dark night, the Chinese peacekeepers completed fuel filling, medical equipment loading, and other preparatory work at full speed. After receiving the injured Bangladeshi peacekeeper, the accompanying medical aid personnel on the helicopter first gave emergency treatment to him. Now, the injured Bangladeshi peacekeeper has been transferred to the Ghana Medical Level II Plus Hospital (GHANMED 2) for follow-up treatment and his condition is stable.
