MAPUTO, Apr. 7 -- The 45th Chinese naval escort taskforce concluded its goodwill visit to Mozambique and left the port of Maputo for Madagascar at noon on April 5, local time.
During the visit, the commanding officer of the taskforce called on the mayor of Maputo and the chief of staff of the Mozambican Navy and had in-depth exchanges with them. On the morning of April 2, more than 200 representatives of the Mozambican Navy visited the Chinese frigate Linyi . The Chinese sailors demonstrated the operation of fireproof gear and damage control devices. Members of the two navies had professional exchanges on ship controlling, equipment maintenance and other topics.
During the visit, a deck reception was held on the destroyer Urumqi of the taskforce, where the Chinese sailors held traditional Chinese cultural activities including lion dances and Taijiquan.
