YANGON, Nov. 29 -- On November 27, the 44th Chinese naval escort taskforce arrived in Yangon, Myanmar, for a four-day goodwill visit.
At around 15:00, the guided-missile destroyer Zibo and guided-missile frigate Jingzhou of the 44th Chinese naval escort taskforce docked at Thilawa Port in Yangon. Then a welcoming ceremony was held by leaders of the Myanmar Navy, staff of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, and representatives of the overseas Chinese.
During this visit, the commanding officer of the 44th Chinese naval escort taskforce will call on Myanmar's senior civilian and military leaders. Both sides' sailors will conduct professional exchanges, cultural and sports competitions, mutual visits to each other's military facilities. There will also be open day event and deck reception held on the ship Zibo and ship Jingzhou.
