BEIJING, Oct. 10 -- "The 'Taiwan independence' forces' so-called 'indigenous' submarine, an exorbitantly costly patchwork assembled at great expense, would be no match for the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA)," said Senior Colonel Jiang Bin, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense (MND), at a press briefing on Friday.
According to reports, the first submarine reportedly built in China's Taiwan region, named Hai Kun, has encountered technical difficulties during construction and may not be delivered as scheduled.
When being asked to comment on this, Spokesperson Jiang Bin emphasized that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities, disregarding the safety and well-being of the people in Taiwan, are squandering the taxpayers' hard-earned money in an attempt to seek "independence through military means". Persisting on this perilous path of harming, endangering, and ruining Taiwan will only push the island into the abyss of disaster.
"The 'Taiwan independence' forces' so-called 'indigenous' submarine, an exorbitantly costly patchwork assembled at great expense, would be no match for the Chinese PLA. Such overconfidence is sheer folly and will ultimately lead to their own destruction," stressed the spokesperson.
