BEIJING, March 7 -- Senior Colonel Tan Kefei, spokesperson for the delegation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the People's Armed Police Force (PAP) to the First Session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), gave an account of the membership of the delegation on March 6.
According to Senior Colonel Tan, there are 281 deputies in the delegation of the PLA and the PAP to the First Session of the 14th NPC. All the deputies are members of the Communist Party of China (CPC), with 161 of them having won second-class merit citations or above.
As Senior Colonel Tan stated, the delegation was established on March 3. General Zhang Youxia, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission (CMC), was elected as the head of the delegation, and General He Weidong, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the CMC, was elected as the deputy head. During the session, the delegation will, according to the unified arrangement, review the government work report, the Legislation Law of the People's Republic of China (Revised Draft) etc., in separate groups.
