VIENTIANE, May 18 -- Participating troops of China-Laos Friendship Shield-2023 joint military exercise recently launched mixed group training at Kommadam Academy of the Lao People's Armed Forces (LPAF) in Laos.
The training drills were set on the scenario of joint attacks on transnational armed criminal strongholds in mountains and jungles along the border. Participating troops of both sides, in mixed groups, conducted classified shooting training drills and made exchanges based on different types of weapons and subjects, which greatly improved the troops' familiarity with each other's weapons as well as their ability to use unfamiliar weapons and equipment in different environment.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Yang Biao, on-site commander of the Chinese side, the two sides have jointly completed the live-fire training for more than 20 types of participating weapons and equipment, deepening mutual trust and integration of both troops and laying a solid foundation for the next-stage training.
