BEIJING, Dec. 12 -- Recently, the Logistic Support Department of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China (PRC) jointly announced to extend the period of validity of the notice on protecting the military personnel's rights of priority travel treatment in road passenger transportation beyond its expiry on 1 December 2023.
The notice was issued by both parties in October 2018 and implemented since December 1st that year. It specified the priority rights of military personnel when travelling on road transport in terms of ticketing, security checks and travelling on vehicles.
So far, 2,780 bus stations nationwide have implemented this notice, while some cities have even introduced a policy of free rides for military personnel within the urban public transportation system. As a next step, more cities are making relevant preparations to launch relevant preferential measures.
