BEIJING, March 23 -- The 40th joint patrol in the Beibu Gulf and the first joint maritime training between China and Vietnam successfully concluded on March 20. The two-day joint patrol involved the Chinese naval frigates Hengyang (Hull 568) and Enshi (Hull 627), and the Vietnamese naval frigates Tran Hung Dao (Hull 015) and Ly Thai To (Hull 012).
Both sides took turns to command the combat formation as planned, shared intelligence information, and developed comprehensive situational awareness of the sea areas.During the patrol, the two sides also conducted training exercises in joint escort, joint counter-piracy, and joint search and rescue operations.
