BEIJING, July 8 -- The Chinese Peacekeeping Quick Reaction Force to the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) established a regular supply mechanism to provide clean drinking water to the residents in Abyei.

The shortage of safe drinking water has been a constant problem affecting the lives of people in Abyei. To help the local residents gain access to clean drinking water, the Chinese peacekeepers overcame difficult road conditions, scorching heat and long journeys, driving water trucks through rural paths to deliver drinking water to villages on schedule.
