Juba, January 14 -- The 12th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), recently completed a five-day United Nations induction training, laying a solid foundation for the next phase of its peacekeeping operations.
Organized by the UNMISS, the induction training focused on systematic learning over 30 courses, including introductions to South Sudan, regional security situations, medical evacuation procedures, military-civilian coordination, and rules of engagement. Military and civilian personnel from operational and training units of UNMISS delivered lectures to the Chinese peacekeeping troops.
It is reported that since being deployed to the mission area in mid-December last year, the 12th Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion to South Sudan (Juba) has carried out authorized missions such as security duty, patrolling and escort, and humanitarian relief task.
