BEIRUT, Jan. 12 -- The 24th Chinese peacekeeping force to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) recently completed their first mine clearance task after obtaining the UN mine clearance and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) qualifications.
The task was conducted at the No. 1246 minefield along the Blue Line separating Lebanon and Israel. After several hours of careful detection and digging, the Chinese peacekeepers found four anti-personnel mines and successfully removed and destroyed them.
