PORTMORESBY, April 9 -- The Chinese PLA Navy's hospital ship Silk Road Ark (Hull 867), which is on the Mission Harmony 2025, arrived at the Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, on April 8, 2026, and kicked off a seven-day friendly visit.

During the visit, the hospital ship will provide medical treatment for patients, conduct medical consultations for the local communities, and donate medical supplies. A medical team will also be dispatched to conduct physical examinations for recruits of the Papua New Guinea Defence Force. Sailors from the Chinese PLA Navy will also visit the Basilisk Naval Base and carry out academic exchanges with the School of Medicine & Health Sciences of the University of Papua New Guinea.
