NANJING, Nov. 4 -- The 12th International Army Cadets Week (IACW), organized by the Army Engineering University of PLA, kicked off in Nanjing City, east China's Jiangsu Province, on November 3, 2025. Foreign cadets from military academies of 13 countries including Pakistan, Serbia, and Brazil, are organized into mixed groups with those from 8 Chinese PLA Army academies to participate in training and exchange activities for one week.
Under the theme of the "Impact of New-domain Forces with New Combat Capabilities on Future Warfare", this year's IACW will hold special discussions on such topics as the impact of unmanned equipment development on future warfare and winning modern warfare in confrontational environments, to further deepen practical cooperation between Chinese and foreign military academies.
During the event, Chinese and foreign cadets will participate in Model UN conferences, seminars, leadership contests, equipment tours, cultural experiences, and other activities. Besides, all cadets will have dialogues focusing on the ethical norms and application boundaries of artificial intelligence in military training and future warfare, and exchange views on the latest developments in military science and technology.
The IACW has been successfully held for 11 consecutive editions since its inception in 2005. As an important platform for army academies from various countries to exchange ideas and learn from each other, the event has played a positive role in promoting international military education cooperation and enhancing friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreign militaries.
