Type 056A Guided-missile frigates Ganzhou (Hull 620) and Wenshan (Hull 623) attached to a flotilla with the navy under the Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command recently conducted a round-the-clock combat training exercise in the designated waters of the South China Sea. Focusing on such subjects as strikes on maritime targets, air and missile defense and fire support against coastal defense areas, the exercise fully tested the troops' combat capabilities under complex environments.
