BEIJING, Dec. 19 -- The 47th Chinese naval escort taskforce returned to a military port in Zhoushan City, east China's Zhejiang Province, on December18, 2025, after completing the escort mission in the Gulf of Aden.
The escort taskforce is composed of the Type 052D guided-missile destroyer Baotou (Hull 133), the Type 054A guided-missile frigate Honghe (Hull 523), and the comprehensive supply ship Gaoyouhu (Hull 904). In the past 368 days, the taskforce escorted 102 Chinese and foreign vessels, covering more than 140,000 nautical miles, which fully demonstrated the sense of responsibility and commitment of the Chinese military and ensuring the security of the crucial strategic sea line of communications (SLOC).
During the mission period, the taskforce participated in the multinational maritime exercise "AMAN-2025" in Pakistan and the China-Iran-Russia "Security Belt 2025" joint exercise in Iran. It also made technical stops in Oman, Tanzania, Seychelles, Kenya, and other countries, thus further consolidating the traditional friendship with those countries.
