BEIJING, Dec. 3 -- The 11th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has carried out a series of humanitarian assistance activities in local communities, villages, schools, and orphanages of Juba, capital of South Sudan.
The Chinese peacekeepers delivered urgently needed supplies such as schoolbags, stationery, and bedding to several primary schools and orphanages. They played games, sang, and danced with the local children, bringing them warmth and joy.
They provided professional medical services to residents in Terekeka, conducting health examinations for more than 200 villagers and treating over 150 cases of injuries and illnesses.
Since this year, the 11th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the UNMISS has conducted more than 70 humanitarian assistance operations, donated over 10,000 items of various supplies, and provided medical treatment and assistance to more than 1,000 local people.
