With 11 barrels of a 30-millimeter caliber, firing at a rate exceeding 10,000 rounds per minute, the domestically developed Type 1130 Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) has been nicknamed the Golden Shield for naval vessels.

The 10,000-Round Gun is primarily tasked with terminal phase interception of incoming anti-ship missiles. Equipped with multiple types of ammunition, it typically neutralizes threats either by generating a dense barrage in the air or by achieving direct hits on the target.

Its advanced fire-control system enables the weapon to detect the position and trajectory of hostile missiles, thereby improving hit accuracy.

When locking onto multiple targets, the system can calculate the optimal interception sequence and eliminate threats in succession, forming an efficient terminal phase defense shield for naval vessels at sea.
