BEIJING, Oct. 28 -- On October 28, General He Weidong, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission (CMC), met in Beijing with Vietnamese Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang, who is visiting China and attending the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.
Gen. He Weidong said that China and Vietnam are a community of shared future with strategic significance. China is ready to work with Vietnam to carry forward the traditional friendship, implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and two countries, strengthen strategic communication, work together to address challenges, firmly safeguard common interests, and better benefit the two peoples.
It is hoped that the Chinese and Vietnamese militaries will further strengthen high-level exchanges, expand practical cooperation, and contribute to the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations and the maintenance of regional peace and stability, said Gen. He Weidong.
Gen. Phan Van Giang wished the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum a complete success. The Vietnamese side highly appreciates the important role played by the Chinese side in international and regional affairs, and will continue to give top priority to the development of relations with China and push the relations between the two militaries of the two countries to a new level.
Prior to the talks, Gen. He held a welcoming ceremony for Gen. Phan Van Giang and accompanied him to review the guard of honor of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
