The Southwest Hospital of Army Medical University announced recently that a heroic soldier — Du Fuguo — had been discharged from hospital after three years of therapy in Chongqing. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]  

The treatment team made a daily rehabilitation training plan to improve Du's physical endurance and balance and transformed Du's training equipment and assistive apparatus to enable him to approach normal life sooner.

Du has been recovering well, and is now able to take care of himself in daily activities, such as eating and washing, the hospital said.
