BEIJING, Oct. 22 (ChinaMil) -- General Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC), met with visiting Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on the morning of October 19. General Zhang Youxia said that under the promotion and strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, China-Russia comprehensive strategic coordination partnership has reached an all-time high.
As an important part of the bilateral relations, the relationship between the two militaries has maintained the positive momentum in development and witnessed fruitful results in various areas of cooperation. China-Russia military relationship enjoys a broad based cooperation and bright future, General Zhang Youxia said.
General Zhang stressed that China is ready to work with Russia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of states, promote the in-depth development of the bilateral military relations, and contribute to safeguarding the sovereignty, security and development interests of both countries and maintaining regional and world peace and stability.
Shoygu said that in recent years, a series of fruitful and pragmatic cooperation launched by the two militaries has added positive connotations to the bilateral relations. Russia is willing to work together with China side-by-side to expand military cooperation in various areas and make positive contributions to deepening the strategic coordination between the two countries and the two militaries.
