CHENGDU, May 24 (ChinaMil) -- Organized by China's Ministry of National Defense, military attachés from more than 50 countries made an observation tour to the Western Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from May 21 to 23.
The foreign military attachés visited an army special operation brigade under the Western Theater Command, and came to the Wenchuan earthquake area in west China's Sichuan province, where they conducted an on-spot inspection of the post-quake reconstruction and social and economic development in the area.
The foreign military attachés expressed that the observation tour enabled them to witness firsthand the tremendous achievements China has made in developing its western region, helped them obtain more knowledge about China's national defense and military development in the new era, and is also conducive to boosting military-to-military exchange and cooperation.
