BEIJING, Jan. 17 (ChinaMil) -- General Zhang Youxia, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), met with the newly-elected academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering from the military and awarded them the certificates of Elites in Military Science and Technology in Beijing on Tuesday.
Admiral Miao Hua, member of the CMC and director of the CMC Political Work Department, also attended the meeting.
Gen. Zhang Youxia said at the meeting that the scientific and technological workers in the military should always concentrate on preparing for war, make efforts to turn scientific and technical advantages into winning positions, and continuously make contributions to the improvement of combat effectiveness.
