President Xi inspects frontier post in Inner Mongolia

  BEIJING, Jan. 27 (ChinaMil) -- Ahead of the Spring Festival, Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, weathered freezing cold, 30 degrees below zero Celsius, visiting border soldiers from a frontier defense regiment of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) stationed in the Aershan city of north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

  Xi accompanied soldiers on a patrol of the border and then had lunch with them. He thanked the soldiers for their hard work and wished them a happy new year.
