Army-government Spring Festival party held in Beijing

An army-government Spring Festival party was held in Beijing on the afternoon of Feb. 8, 2010. Liu Qi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Political Department of the PLA, attended and addressed the party.
Liu Qi first extended the Lunar New Year's greetings to all the military leaders attending the party and all the officers and men of the troops of the PLA and the Armed Police Force (APF) stationed in Beijing on behalf of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, the Beijing Municipal People's Congress, the Beijing Municipal Government, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Beijing Municipal Committee and all Beijing citizens.
He said that in 2009, the PLA and the APF troops stationed in Beijing actively participated in and supported the various construction undertakings of the capital and made new contributions to the better and faster development of the economy and society of Beijing, winning broad recognitions from all Chinese people and evoking a strong response from all over the world.
Li Jinai expressed sincere gratitude and best wishes to Beijing's Party committees and governments at all levels and the people for their concern and support to national defense and the army building on behalf of the leaders of the four general headquarters/departments of the PLA and the officers and men of the leading organs and troops stationed in Beijing.
Li Jinai stressed that the troops stationed in Beijing should make new and more contributions to helping build Beijing into a prosperous, civilized, harmonious and livable capital of China.
Relevant leaders of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC, the four general headquarters/departments of the PLA and major military organizations stationed in Beijing and related Beijing municipal leaders attended the party.
