PLA art troupe visits Laos

VIENTIANE, January 7 (ChinaMil) -- The Art Troupe of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was invited to visit Laos and gave its first performance in Vientiane, capital of Laos, on the evening of January 4, 2014 for the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Army (LPA).
The performances of the art troupe included songs, dances, acrobatics and musical instruments. In addition, an acrobatic show titled “Ice and flame”, which once caused a sensation in the Spring Festival Gala on CCTV on the eve of the Chinese Lunar New Year in 2013, the Year of the Snake, was also performed.
Sesalmon, director of the Publicity and Training Bureau of the General Political Department of the LPA, expressed that the visit and performances of the PLA Art Troupe brought the friendship and good wishes of the Chinese military and people to the Lao military and people, which not only created a dense festive atmosphere for celebrating the 65th anniversary of the founding of the LPA, but also deeply inspired the Lao military and people. It not only enhanced the cultural and art exchanges between the two sides, strengthened the traditional friendship between the two countries and the two militaries, but also deepened the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Han Wei, head of the PLA Art Troupe, delivered a speech before the performance. He said that China and Laos are friendly neighbors with their mountains and rivers connected, and the two people and the two militaries enjoy a long history of friendship. This visit was to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the founding of the LPA, display the friendly relations between the two militaries, and further consolidate and develop the traditional friendship between China and Laos.
The PLA Art Troupe, consisting of a total of 49 persons, will stage three performances during its stay in Laos.
