Air Forces of China and Spain vow to expand scope of cooperation

  BEIJING, Sept. 22 (ChinaMil) -- General Ma Xiaotian, member of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC) and commander of the PLA Air Force, met with General Francisco Javier García Arnaiz, the visiting chief of staff of the Spanish Air Force in Beijing on the afternoon of September 21.

  Ma Xiaotian said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-Spain comprehensive strategic partnership and the friendly cooperation in various fields between the two countries has yielded fruitful results.

  The bilateral military relations have maintained a good momentum of development as evidenced by the expanded professional and technological cooperation and increasingly active exchange of personnel training, Gen. Ma continued.

  The Chinese Air Force Commander also expressed his satisfaction with the friendly exchange between the air forces of the two countries featured with frequent reciprocal group visits and effective pragmatic cooperation. He hoped both sides can conduct further exchange and cooperation in more areas.

  General Arnaiz said that the air forces of Spain and China have maintained close relations and witnessed fruitful exchange in a number of fields. He hoped that the pragmatic cooperation with China can be continually deepened.

  Gen. Ma hosted a welcoming ceremony for Gen. Arnaiz and briefed him on the general information of the PLA Air Force prior to their talks.

  At the invitation of Ma Xiaotian, Gen. Arnaiz and his entourage are visiting China from Sept. 19 to 25.
