Xi Jinping attends plenary meeting of PLA delegation to NPC

Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), attended the plenary meeting of the delegation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to the Second Session of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) and delivered an important speech on March 11, 2014.   BEIJING, March 12 (ChinaMil) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), attended the plenary meeting of the delegation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to the Second Session of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) on March 11, 2014.

  During the meeting, eight PLA deputies delivered speeches on issues including in-depth implementation of the goal for building a powerful military, military reform and army building, military-civilian integration and development and so forth.

  After carefully listening to the speeches by the PLA deputies, Xi Jinping delivered an important speech by centering on achieving the goal of building a powerful military.

  Fan Changlong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the CMC, presided over the meeting. Xu Qiliang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the CMC, and members of the CMC including Chang Wanquan, Fang Fenghui, Zhang Yang, Zhao Keshi, Zhang Youxia, Wu Shengli, Ma Xiaotian and Wei Fenghe attended the meeting.
