In early March, a piece of good news came from a destruction station of mine and demolition materials under the Jinan Military Area Command of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) that the first anti-tank mine automatic disassembling system of the PLA developed by the station on its own was formally put into use after passing technical appraisal.

　　According to the appraisal of the experts, the system possesses such characteristics as being safe and simple for operation, high in efficiency, low in energy consumption and pollution free, symbolizing that the PLA has obtained a new breakthrough in anti-tank mine destruction technology.

　　It’s introduced that it took about 8 minutes to disassemble an anti-tank mine by using the original anti-tank mine disassembling system of the PLA. That was not only inefficient and high-energy consuming, but also high in contamination.

　　The automatic anti-tank mine disassembling system developed by the station adopted such technologies as automatic control, revolving part-limit cut, extrusion and separation and realized disassembling of anti-tank mines in a rapid, automatic and safe way. Hence, the operational efficiency of the new system is 6 times higher than that of the original one and the energy consumption of the new system is as low as 1/7 of the original one. Moreover, the new system causes no pollution to the environment.
