Qi Jianguo meets Myanmar guests

  Qi Jianguo, assistant to chief of general staff of the Chinese PLA, met with Lt-Gen Min Aung Hlaing, chief of the 2nd Bureau of Special Operations of the Ministry of Defense of Myanmar, and his party in Beijing on March 1.

  Qi Jianguo said that China and Myanmar are good neighbors with common mountains and rivers. Since the two countries established diplomatic relations 60 years ago, the bilateral relations have developed smoothly and the co-operation in all fields has been deepened constantly. The Chinese side appreciates and thanks the Myanmar side for its consistent support to China on issues concerning China’s core interests. Over the years, the militaries of the two sides carried out pragmatic exchanges and co-operation in high-level mutual visit, military training, frontier defense, personnel training and equipment technology. The Chinese side is willing to work together with the Myanmar side to continue to develop the traditional friendship, respect the keen concerns of each other, deepen the reciprocal co-operation and realize common development.

  Lt-Gen Min Aung Hlaing said that under the common efforts of the people of the two countries, the Myanmar-China relations are deepened constantly and the relations between the two militaries become closer. The Myanmar side will continue to strengthen communication and mutual trust with the Chinese side, further promote the development of the friendly ties between the two militaries and maintain regional and world peace and stability.
