The Foreign Affairs Office of the Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China, the Headquarters of the General Logistics Department (GLD) of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the Department of Health of the GLD of the PLA jointly wrote to the Chinese medical and epidemic prevention team to Haiti to express their most sincere solicitude to all the team members.

　　The letter of consolation reads, “On January 24, you were entrusted the mission at a critical moment and rushed to Haiti which is on the other side of the earth with the great trust of the motherland and the people to implement UN humanitarian medical rescue task.”

　　“Regardless of the dangers such as constant aftershocks, social turmoil, prevalent plague and disordered security, you are withstanding the test and challenge of life and death. You have made major contributions to the maintenance of the social stability of Haiti and the healing of the mental and physical wounds of the quake victims, winning extensive praise from the international community and the heart-felt thanks from the Haitian people.”

　　“You have showed the brave and tenacious working style of the PLA servicepersons, the medical ethic and accomplishment of healing the wounded and rescuing the dying, and the superb and excellent medical level in the operation of post-quake rescue.”

　　At the end of the consolatory letter, it reads,“We firmly believe that you are sure to accomplish the honorable mission entrusted by the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people with flying colors under the common efforts of all the members".
