On the morning of February 2, local time, Marcu, chief ammunition technology officer of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) from Finland, led two officials from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Finland to visit the Chinese peacekeeping transportation detachment to Liberia.
“I watched the shocking National Day military parade held by China at a morning briefing of the UNMIL in last October. I found in the equipment inspection that your weapons and equipment were the best in administration and maintenance. Therefore, I lead the two members of a visiting delegation from Finland to visit you and learn your advanced experience and practice,” Marcu said.
During their visit, the peacekeepers of the Chinese peacekeeping transportation detachment demonstrated weapon disassembly and assembly with their eyes covered. “You have very high quality!” The superb skill and good military bearing of the Chinese peacekeepers left a deep impression on the mind of the Finnish officials.
